She sat there, staring off into the sky.

She had blonde hair and bright blue eyes.

She was wearing a yellow sundress.

A little boy, the same age as her walked up and sat down next to her. He sat downly lightly, hardly making a noise. She glanced in his direction. He stared forward, not making a noise.

"Can you feel it?" the little girl asked.

"I can," the young boy said, looking sad.

"He was never there, this is all a lie." She said, her bright blue eyes glistening.

"They are crazy, throwing their arms in the air, crying at the sky. Why?" The boy looked at the girl, still perplexed.

"Well, life is boring kid. These people just need to believe there is something else out there." She said, turning and fixing her bluish-grey eyes on his.

"There isn't anything else out there, is there?" He asked worriedly.

"Sorry kid, it's doubtful." The little girl said very matter-of-factly.

They both sat there quietly, staring at the setting sun.

She finally spoke, her shrilly voice slicing through the crisp autumn air, "You know, they will force us to participate. They will make us join in, whether we want to or not."

The boy looked at the little girl, a sad look of horrifying realization spreading across his face into a grin. "We are a slave to ourselves."

The little girl chuckled, saying, "I misjudged you kid, you're smarter than you look."

The boy stopped smiling, looking away from her. He thought to himself, how could he have misunderstood so badly. Church camp was nothing like it should be.

Denial, released itself through a sigh, then the boy spoke. "You know, we aren't really kids."

The girl, looking surprised, stood up. "You intrigue me boy, we must have much in common. Where are you from exactly?"

The boy stood up, looking her straight in the eyes. "The same place as you, I have no beginning and I have no end, though I am not eternal."He spoke in a monotone, sounding more like a robot than human.

He looked away, smiled and looked at the little girl, obviously relishing in the moment.

The girl looked confused. Then, understanding consumed her and...she couldn't stop laughing.
